The party make their way to the town cathedral to to see Father Abstalar ZantusFather Abstalar Zantus, a cleric of Desna, and a trusted healer who has helped them before. Father Zantus explains that their strength will come back in time, just a few hours normally, and he can heal Taerinar of the egg infestation. As Father Zantus reaches out to heal Tae, Tae slaps him away. In tears of the ordeal he has been through and possibly a little delirious from the poison he screams that he will protect and raise the eggs and that he won't allow Father Zantus to remove them. Shocked by this Father Zantus stands silent completely unprepared for such a confrontational situation. Father Zantus cannot heal someone against their will and isn't sure how to deal with this situation stammering and muddling his words as he tries to convince Tae to be healed. Taerinar storms out and heads back to the Rusty Dragon Tavern where he immediately goes up to his room.

Deet recognising the danger in allowing the worms to mature gets angry with Father Zantus for allowing Tae to leave in such a  dangerous state. Deet may be small but she can be scary when she wants to be. She screams at Zantus that he must heal Tae or Tae might die from the eggs and she grabs Father Zantus' hand and drags him to the tavern.

Deet doesn't know how right she is, in fact the worms that hatch from these eggs are far more dangerous than the moth is. They would eat Taerinar from the inside out emerging as a surprisingly dangerous threat that would paralyse and feed on anyone they come into contact with.

Deet shoves father Zantus through Taerinar's room door screaming at him that he must "fix Tae" because she doesn't want Tae to die. Father Zantus shaken by the little Gnome's outburst delicately approaches Taerinar and pleads with him to allow the eggs to be removed for his own safety. Father Zantus does not fully understand the danger of the eggs but he at least knows that when creatures lay eggs in a host it rarely ends well for the host. Tae finally agrees to be healed and father Zantus quickly leaves dodging the angry Gnome who is now finally happy that her friend is safe.

The party decide that it now being very late at night and them still being a little weak from the moth it would be better to rest and set out tomorrow. They unintentionally sleep late and end up leaving around midday. Notably the body of the large moth is missing from their battleground and the journey to the haunted manor grounds is this time uneventful, that is until they finally approach the manor grounds which appear to be blanketed in an unnaturally thick fog cloud and despite it still being the middle of the day the sky rapidly darkens as they approach the grounds as if the whole area is shrouded in shadow.
